Explore San Francisco
San Francisco’s been the subject of quite a few hit records over the years with chart toppers by the Flowerpot Men, Scott Mackenzie, and Tony Bennett . Now these recordings may have all extolled the virtues of the city itself, but as far as I can recall none of them made mention of the living accommodation. As it happens there’s something there for everyone with cheap San Francisco hotels at one end of the financial spectrum and luxury apartments at the other.
If you’ve never been to the city before then maybe it’s time you took a closer look, and with a little investigation you might be tempted to make your own pilgrimage. It may not be the swinging sixties any more but San Francisco still attracts more than 16 million visitors every year, and with any luck you could be one of them. And of course no-one can think of San Francisco without conjuring up an image of the Golden Gate Bridge in their mind. It’s an amazing feat of engineering spanning over 4,200 feet at its widest point, and with a total length of 8,891 feet. Millions of cars pass over it every year, as well as cyclists and quite a few brave pedestrians too. Walking over that bridge is something I would only do in my worst nightmares but if you’ve got a head for heights you’ll probably love the experience. One thing’s for sure, the view from the bridge is simply breathtaking, and once you’ve been there you’ll never forget it.
So if all this talk of pop singers and bridges has whetted your appetite why not see if you can grab some cheap airline tickets and make your own way to San Francisco? I promise you won’t have to wear any flowers in your hair.
