Mobile Broad-Band is the key to the Development of Fast Connections

Mobile broadband has been announced as the latest technology in the broadband world which holds the secret to the development of high speed broadband. Recently, broad-band was available through a basic phone line, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line connection, that links to your terminal using a modem. WI FI high speed internet is going to be more and more popular, whereby the ADSL modem is linked to the computer thanks to a wireless network, and internet users are clearing their homes of ADSL cables. However mobile broad-band will take internet further and offering another big step in the developing of internet connectivity; a broadband connection almost in all the house without the use of a telephone landline cable.

The prospect of using a fast high speed internet connection in any room is an obviously attractive one for potential internet users, like those people that often use internet with their pc terminal away from home. Business people who travel a lot for work are the obvious target for mobile broadband since they will welcome the chance of not having to search at all for a reliable WI-FI hotspot for internet internet connection. Mobile high speed connection will go further than that, and if fees soon start to go down and internet connection lines is faster we will see the high speed internet users subscribing for mobile broadband.

Mobile broad band works by using a portable modem to any modern personal computer, generally called a ‘dongle’, from which a PC terminal can use the mobile ADSL service the clients have acquired. Telecom companies are offering mobile high speed connection deals and coverage of the networks, which is well known as 3 G networks, which is now reported to be more than 90% of GB.

Broad-band speed is important for any broad-band connection and mobile high speed connection providers at first had problems to persuade users that mobile internet connections could perform as good as conventional, ADSL landline fast speed connection. Internet speeds are changing, recently Vodafone has announced mobile high speed internet speeds of up to nearly 8 mb, similar to some of the fastest landline connections. Countries like the UK, have decided to sponsor with huge resources in fibre optic cable networks, to speed up high speed connection line to up to 100mb.

In New Zealand, however, a leading telecommunications provider has said that mobile broadband networks are set to increase fast over the coming years and they have said that mobile high speed connection could push connections of up to 100mb by end of 2011, which coincides with the year the GB’s fibre optic network is to be finished. This could create a change in industry thinking, with the development of an efficient super fast mobile broadband network having serious advantages over the installation of thousands of Kms of fibre optic cables, not least from a practical point of view.
